It’s been two weeks off success for the EFS sponsored England North West Regional Triathlon and Paratri Academies.
At the European Relay Qualifier there was a full podium for the boys taking Gold, Silver, Bronze and fantastic Bronze in the girls race, It comes only a week after a 1-2-3 for the boys at the Leeds Aquathlon.
This level of performance from an individual region is previously unknown and all four will be travelling to Hungary on the 28th June.
Dan led from the outset, being second out of the swim and then in the front bike group of three, and then ran away to win comfortably. Matt and Marcus trusted their running ability by saving their energy in the 2nd bike group, and this paid off when they ran away from the rest of the bike group to take 2nd and 3rd. Notable efforts from Oliver Makinson in the top 20 and from Sam Wardle.
Not to be outdone by the boys – Olivia put in a big early effort on the bike to get into the front bike group, and benefited from some strong bike work from Anna Hulme, who was first back in to T2. Olivia then ran a well paced run to distance the majority of the group on the last lap and take her place on the podium. Notable performances also included a strong bike performance from Lauren Cooley, and an excellent run from the ever-developing Ruby Frankland.
